Detailed Description::
This beautiful, newly developed (2004/05) Alpine lodge is situated in the calm and quiet area between Brienz and Axalp. Located in quiet seclusion, the lodge received a three-star award from the Bernese Oberland Alpine region. Thanks to its pleasingly bright 56sqm-sized seminar room “Alphaus” is the ideal accommodation for holiday guests and small seminar groups. It is the ideal place for families with children and those seeking calmness and relaxation.
The wide Alpine pasture may be used for sports and games. There is a nearby playground and the facilities of Schweibenalp Guest and Seminar House, including catering facilities, telephone, library and a little shop that may be used.
In addition to a bright and cosy lounge and dining room equipped with a wood stove and a convenient kitchen, there are three double rooms designed to combine simplicity and modernity. The house is equipped with underfloor heating and two bathrooms with shower and toilet and a separate toilet on the first floor.

Description of surroundings:
“Alphaus” is situated on the Schweibenalp plateau amidst the magnificent mountainscape at the edge of Giessbach Gorge, offering a view on Brienz Rothorn. There are old, gnarled maple trees covered with moss and fern, and strange rocks overlooking the area, as if witnesses of mystical times long past.
Schweibenalp Plateau is located about 20 minutes’ walk or a short drive off the road leading to Axalp, a small but select skiing area. The surroundings offer numerous, magical hiking tours and many opportunities for trips to the surrounding area: Interlaken, Bern, Grindelwald, Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, Aare Gorge, Grimsel Pass and the famous Ballenberg open-air museum.
