For ecological reasons, we recommend traveling by public transportation. However, there is a public parking area available on Schweibenalp. In winter, access is only possible with appropriate equipment.
Arrival by public transport
Travel to Brienz by train via Lucerne or Bern. From Brienz railroad station, take the post bus towards “Axalp”, getting off at the stop “Bramisegg”. You find travel routes and timetable at www.sbb.ch.
The center is approx. 800m (approx. 15 min walk) from the Bramisegg stop.
Pick-up service
On request there is a pick-up service from Brienz station (CHF 50 per trip for up to 4 people, CHF 60 for 5 to 8 people). The pick up service from the Postbus stop “Bramisegg” to Schweibenalp is free of charge. Please arrange the transfer timely with the reception desk.
Arrival by plane
The closest airport is Zurich-Kloten. It is a 2:45h train ride. Train schedule at: www.sbb.ch
Arrival by car
Take the highway exit A8 Brienz / Giessbach / Axalp, then drive up the mountain in the direction of Axalp until you reach the restaurant “Bramisegg”. Take the side road on the right for about 800m through the forest. Stay right at the fork in the road.
